Hustle Tip of the Week: Concrete

The problem I get when dealing with people is no one is concrete anymore.  I feel like if you want success stick to a plan and stick to what’s in the plan.  I take issue with people who don’t keep their word and people who don’t have set pricing.  You ask a promoter to get a section at a club he says it depends.  You call somebody for a website they say its $1,000 and when in the middle of finishing up the site they say $3,000.  You ask someone to be somewhere and they can’t give their word because something may come up.  In a world of instability is no one concrete anymore?  Seems like people are afraid of giving their word in fear of breaking it.  Your word is all you have.  If you don’t have your word you don’t have shit.  If you say you're gonna be somewhere or do something then do it and if you can’t let that person know 2 hours ahead of time.  Whenever you give your word your first priority is to keep it.  People make it an option to break their word and YOU CAN NOT DO THAT.  Then no one will fool with you or feel like they can trust you because your word ain’t shit.  I grew up with a dad that sold an empty promise to me and my sister weekly.  I have 4 little cousins who want me to pick them up damn near every week.  I tell them imma come and I’m there.  My cousin Petey told me “When Chip (Lewis) say he gon come he gon come.  They was over here sayin’ you wasn’t commin’, but I knew you was.”  Even kids know you ain’t shit when your word ain’t good.  I knew it as a kid and my little cousins know who is and who ain’t.  Your option is never to call and make up and excuse.  Your only option is to hold your word or die trying.  I had a guy purchase a site from me this week.  He paid all the money upfront which was a lot.  His statement was “Your not the cheapest person I talked to about a site and your not the most expensive, but you’re the only company I called that was solid.”

Somebody has to be the rock in a world full of paper and wind.

True Words.

In the services industry we lose half of our time, trying to follow up with no shows, reschedules, and flat out flaky would be clients....and I am in financial consulting! I mean, we literally take someone from dead broke, to a plan of retirement/early retirement....free of charge. People who need financial help. I mean if you break your promises to yourself and your future, then you know you wont keep your word to others.

A large majority of people who "keep it real" ... Don't! That is just the world we live in. Let's not forget. We are of the flesh, that means that we will inevitably fail you. Its tough to swallow, but it is true. Although it is quite irritating, you have to accept the fact that no matter how much you want to believe someone will do the right thing, they will not come through 100% of the time. Be as real as you can to yourself and chuckle at everyone else. Period.

I agree with you on being concrete. I bought a car last week and when I get down to the last paper to sign here comes some new numbers. I told the MANAGER this is not what I was told, his reply was I never told you that we just met. It was a slight increase in the price so I signed, but you know what. I will NEVER buy a car from them again or refer anyone to him. Who knows how much business he lost on not being CONCRETE. Then I had this fresh out of college salesperson to contact me on a service she was offering. I gave her meeting, she was late because she was lost, then I just canceled it for 2 days later. She was still 5 minutes late. Do you know how hard it is to get a meeting with someone, not to buy just hear your pitch??? I am grateful for all the business I get and I show my appreciation by giving my customers what they want, when they want it,and at a good price. It seems like that is hard to come by in the business world.

Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Lewis Williams. Straight to the point, a valid point at that! I applaud and commend you. The truth of what a real relationship is versa the fallacies of the worlds definition of courtship. The integrity of a true relationship is missing from TODAY. Integrity is first with self. Issues! If we give account to self out of integrity, then the elements (e.g. sex, money, affirmation and commitment...)will be less of a crutch or rock to lean or build upon having no foundation. The truth is bold and it's a reflection of what is not. If one hears what you're saying, they'll see what truth is reflecting. Amen! Do Not Stop There. Keep going! The very same thing I've been saying all along. If you're not married, YOU ARE SINGLE-all day long! Wow. I'm impressed.

Keep doing what you are doing! :0)

You look breathtakingly gorgeous as usual, especially in this dress. I found a similar style online but I am not sure whether it will look the same as yours. Can you give me some advice? Thank you very much :)-delicate Burberry Hat
